Allah's Forgiveness

إن الحمدَ للهِ, نحمده و نستعينه و نستغفره و نعوذ بالله من شرور أنفسنا و سيّْئات أعمالنا. من يهـده الله فلآ مضل له و من يضلل فلا هـادي له.

و أشـهـد أن لا إله إلا ألله و حـده لا شـريك له, و أشـهـد أن محمّدا عبده و رسوله, بلّغ الرساله و أدّى ألأمانه و نصح ألأمه فَتَركها على المحجَّة البيضاء ليلها كنهارها لا يزيغ عنها إلا هالك. اللهم صلّي و سلم و بارك على سيّدنا محمّد و على آله و صحبه و من سـار على نهجـه.

أمّـا بَعدُ: فإنّ خير الحديث كتـاب الله, و خير الهـدي هدي محَمّـد, و شرّ الأمور مُحدثـاتـهـا و كلّ بدعـة ضلالة.

عباد الله, أوصيكم و نفسي بتقوى الله و طاعته, فقد فاز المتقون.

My dearest brothers and sisters,

يقول ألله سبحانه و تعالى :

"و لقد خلقنا الأنسان ونعلم ما توسوس به نفسه و نحن أقرب إليه من حبل الوريد"

Allah (swt) says: “And We created man, And We know what his soul whispers to him.

And We are nearer to him than his jugular vein”

My dearest brothers and sisters, Allah (swt) is closer to you than your own-self. Does not this tell you how much Allah cares about you? He (swt) is nearer to you than anything else on this world.

We draw away from him but He keeps himself closer and nearer to us than our jugular veins.

نفسه و نحن أقرب إليه من حبل الوريد

“And We are nearer to him than his own jugular vein”

Does not that tell you how much Allah (swt) cares about you?

We keep pushing away from Allah but Allah never abandon us; listen my dearest brothers and sisters, to what Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

"يا إبن آدم خلقتك بيديّ و ربيتك بنعمتي و أنت تخالفني و تعصيني فإن رجعت إلي تبت عليك. فمن أين تجد لك ربا مثلي و أنا الغفور الرحيم"

“O son of Adam! I created you with My own hands and raised you with my blessing and you disobey Me and draw away from Me but if you come back to Me, I will forgive you. Where can you find a god like Me and I am the most Merciful, most Forgiving”

Yes! My beloved brothers and sisters, where can you find a god like Allah?

Where can you find a god like Allah, who will forgive you and forgive you and forgive you, no matter how many times you strayed away from Him? No matter, how hard you tried to withdraw yourself away from Allah; He is still nearer to you than your own self.

He who created you with His own Hands cares about you being with Him. He who bestowed on humanity the honour of being His own hand crafted creatures, does not distain Himself away from you. Listen to what Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

"ثلاثة خلقهن الله بيديه و لم يخلق شيئا بيديه إلا الثلاثة: آدم , و جنة عدن و ألواح موسى"

“Three things Allah created with His own hands and nothing else He created with His Hands; Adam, the Garden of Eden and the Tablets of Moses”

Is not that enough honor that He created us with His hands and everything else He created with His hands are meant for us.

How can we after all this destine ourselves away from Allah?

It has been narrated that Allah revealed to David (peace be upon him) that He says:

يا داوود ! لو يعلم المدبرون عني و شوقي لعودتهم و محبتي لقربتهم و رغبتي في إنابتهم لذابوا شوقا إلي. يا داوود! هذه ر غبتي بالمدبرين عني فكيف محبتي للمقبلين علي"

“O David! Had those who are straying away from Me known how much I love that they come back to Me and how much I love that they were near to Me and how much I love to forgive them; they would have been mad in love with Me.

O David! That is how much I care for those who are away from Me, How is My love then to those who are drawing near to Me.”

Glory be to Allah! We aught to be very blind to stray away from His commandments. And after all this we still have to deal with people who would say: I am not convinced, persuade me. Tell me why should I pray or fast or wear the hijab.

Glory be to Allah! Do we need a better reason than drawing near to Allah. Do we need a better reason than gaining the love of Allah

يا داوود! هذه ر غبتي بالمدبرين عني فكيف محبتي للمقبلين علي"

“O David! That is how much I care for those who are away from Me, how much love then I have to those who draw near to Me.”

Brothers and sisters, in another hadith Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, that Allah (swt) says:

"إني و الإنس و الجن في نبأ عظيم. أخلق و يعبد غيري. أرزق و يشكر سواي. خيري إلى العباد نازل و شرهم إليّ صاعد. أتودد إليهم برحمتي و أنا الغني عنهم و يتبغضون إلي بالمعاصي و هم أفقر ما يكونون إلي.

أهل ذكري أهل مجالستي. فمن أراد أن يجالسني فاليذكرني.

أهل طاعتي أهل محبتي. أهل معصيتي لا أقنطهم من رحمتي. إن تابوا إلي فأنا حبيبهم, و إن أبوا فأنا طبيبهم. أبتليهم بالمصائب لاطهرهم من المعايب.

الحسنة عندي بعشرة أمثالها و أزيد و السيئة عندي بمثلها و اعفو. و عزتي و جلالي لو استغفروني منها لغفرتها. من أتاني منهم تائبا تلقيته من بعيد. و من أعرض عني ناديته من قريب: أقول له : أين تذهب ؟ ألك ربّ سواي؟

In a hadith Qudsi Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) narrated:

“Me and the humans and Jinn are in a great struggle. I create but they worship some one else. I give but they thank someone else.

I bestow my blessing on them but they challenge me!

I draw closer to them with My mercy, though I am no need for them but they turn away from Me with their sins though they are in great need for Me.

Those who remember; are those who are fit to be in My company. So, whoever wishes to be in my company, let him remember Me.

Those who obey Me are those who are fit to receive My love.

Those who disobey Me, I do not cast them out of My mercy. If they repent to Me then I will love them. But if they refuse (to repent) then I am their doctor. I afflict them with adversities to cleans them from evil.

A good deed with Me is rewarded ten folds and I give even more. A bad deed with Me is one and I forgive. By My Glory! Were they to ask Me to forgive it, I will forgive it.

He who comes to Me in repentance; I will come to him from afar. And he who insists and turns away from Me, I call him from near; I say to him: Where are you going? Do you have a god other than Me?”

Beloved brothers and sisters, do we still need convincing and persuasion when Allah (swt) tells us:

أهل طاعتي أهل محبتي

“Those who obey Me are fit for My love”

Do we still need a reason for why should we pray, fast, put on proper Islamic dress, when Allah (swt) tells us:

الحسنة عندي بعشرة أمثالهاوأزيد

“A good deed with Me is rewarded ten folds and I give even more”

Do we still need further persuasion of why should not I be selling Alcohol, pork and lottery when Allah (swt) tells us:

. من أتاني منهم تائبا تلقيته من بعيد

“Whoever comes to Me in repentance I will come to welcome him from afar”

My dearest brothers and sisters, let us conclude with this beautiful Hadith:

"عبدي اخرجتك من العدم إلى الوجود و أنشأت لك السمع و البصر و العقل و القلب.

عبدي أسترك و لا تخشاني. عبدي أذكرك و أنت تنساني. عبدي أستحيي منك و أنت لا تستحيي مني.

فمن أعظم مني جودا؟! و من ذا الذي يقرع بابي فلم أفتح له؟!

و من ذا الذي سألني فلم أعطيه؟! أبخيل أنا فيبخل عبدي عليّ؟!"

“My servant! I brought you into existence out of nothing. And I granted you hearing, sight, brain and reasoning.

My servant! I cover you but you do not fear Me.

My servants! I remember you but you forget Me. My servant! I feel shy from exposing your sins but you do not feel shy from Me.

Now! Who is more generous than me? And who is this who knocked on My door but I did not open for him. And who is this who asked from Me but I did not give him.

Am I stingy or miser that My servant acts stingy with Me?!”

My beloved brothers and sisters, have Allah ever been stingy with any one of us? Then why are we acting stingy in giving Allah his due right.

سبحان الله عمّا يشركون

Glory be to Allah from all falsehood they attribute to Him.

عباد الله أقول قولي هذا و استغفر الله العظيم لي و لكم فيا فوز المستغفرين و يا نجاة التائبين.

الحمد لله ربّ العالمين, حمد الشاكرين , حمدا كثيرا طيبا كما أمر. و صلى الله و سلم و بارك على سيّدنا محمد و على آله و صحبه.

My dearest brothers and sisters,

I would like here to summarize my first khutbah by reminding you with this Hadith:

My dearest brothers and sisters, Let us all together, in this blessed hour and this blessed place, come together and say, and say it loud:

أستغفر الله العظيم و أتوب إاليه * 3

عباد الله,

إن الله العظيم الجليل امركم بامر كريم, بدأ به نفسـه و ثنى بملائكته المسبحة بقدسه و ثلث بكم من إنسه و جنه, فقال و لم يزل قائلا حكيما, تنبيها لنا و تعليما:

"إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ يَاأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا"

لبيك اللهم صلي و سلم و بارك على سيدنا محمد و على آله و صحبه و من إهـتدى بهديه و أقتدى بسنته إلى يوم الدين.
